Fireworks Safety

Protect your eyes from fireworks

Fireworks in the United States are closely associated with the upcoming 4th of July holiday. Unfortunately, this celebration also results in over 10,000 visits to the emergency room for fireworks-related injuries. It is of the utmost importance to always think safety first when using any type of fireworks. This can include sparklers, Roman candles or bottle rockets. As suggested by the American Academy of Ophthalmology we would like to pass on these tips:

· Where protective eyewear when igniting fireworks

· Don’t pick up duds or misfires

· Keep a safe distance

· Supervise children closely

· Celebrate with the pros

We hope the information above will remind you to enjoy your 4th of July celebration while taking safety measures to ensure a safe holiday!
